O inquérito de opinião pública do Afrobarómetro revela que a maior parte dos Moçambicanos querem que as organizações da sociedade civil participem na nomeação dos membros da Comissão Nacional de Eleições (CNE). Contudo, eles apoiam em certa medida que os partidos políticos com representação parlamentar participem nesse processo seguido, em menor grau por todos os partidos políticos existentes no país, partido no governo e o Presidente da República. Press Release - Appointing Members to the National Electoral Commission

The 2012 Afrobarometer survey reveals that most Mozambicans want civil society organizations to participate in the naming of members to the National Electoral Commission. Nevertheless, they also support that political parties with parliamentary representation participate in this process followed to a lesser extent by all political parties in the country, the governing party and the president.

This and other findings will be presented and discussed on 26 June 2013 at the VIP Hotel, Maputo from 09:30 to 12:00. This is the first dissemination session of the survey results of the 2012 Afrobarometer Public Opinion Survey on the Quality of Democracy and Governance in Mozambique which will focus on 'Country Specific Issues'.

CPGD nominates three Mozambican scholars for Afrobarometer Summer School at the University of Cape Town

In the scope of its strategic goal of building capacity among Mozambican scholars for systematic research, the CPGD has selected three young Mozambican scholars to participate in the 2013 Afrobarometer Summer School being hosted by the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Social Science from 7 to 30 January 2013.

CPGD implements 2012 Afrobarometer Survey

From 17 November to 9 December 2012 the Afrobarometer research team based at CPGD interviewed 2,400 adult Mozambicans on the Quality of Democracy and Governance in Mozambique.  The survey was based on a nationally representative, random and stratified probability sample.  The data will be entered into SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science), reviewed and cleaned.  It will then be analyzed and disseminated in the country to government institutions, NGOs, media, international donors and the public.

Afrobarometer Survey Training

CPGD has recently trained dozens of undergraduate and graduate students from Mozambique to implement the 2012 Afrobarometer public opinion survey on the Quality of Democracy and Governance in Mozambique. The first training, which took place in Maputo from 8 to 12 November, was to train fieldworkers to collect data in the Central and Southern regions of the country. They had to have ability of speaking and reading to a considerable extent in Ndau and Sena for the Central Region and Changana for the Southern Region.
