Afrobarometer Survey Training

CPGD has recently trained dozens of undergraduate and graduate students from Mozambique to implement the 2012 Afrobarometer public opinion survey on the Quality of Democracy and Governance in Mozambique. The first training, which took place in Maputo from 8 to 12 November, was to train fieldworkers to collect data in the Central and Southern regions of the country. They had to have ability of speaking and reading to a considerable extent in Ndau and Sena for the Central Region and Changana for the Southern Region. The second training took place in Nampula from 14 to 18 November 2012 to train fieldworkers to collect data in the Northern region. Northern fieldworkers had to be able to speak and read Macua. In total 40 fieldworkers including interviewers and supervisors were recruited and deployed for the survey.  The survey results are expected to be released in early 2013.
